Sanctum Pinot Noir - Aged in French oak, this single-vineyard, cool climate Burgundy style Pinot Noir is a gentle, fruity and just a touch smoky wine with pleasant acidity. Macerated for 25 days and then aged in new French oak barrels for one year, this wine will get even better with age.
Sanctum Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a terroir-driven, delicious, old world cabernet from Goriska Brda. One year of French and Slavonian oak ageing brings balance and finesse to this virbant wine that delivers bright fruit, ripe cherries and black pepper aromas along with firm tannins, nice acidity and minerality. This is a single vineyard wine created by Mavric family in their estate located right on the border between Slovenia and Italy. The secret ingredient is 5% of the local Teran (aka Refosko), the "wild" and acidic grape that adds a special touch to this delicious Reserva.
Sanctum Merlot is a Goriska Brda wine that tastes like an old world version of a top CA merlot - big, ripe, vibrant, yet silky smooth, with almost 15% alcohol that you will never taste. Dusty, smoky, tobacco and chocolate aromas dominate the nose, finish is long. This is a single vineyard wine created by the Mavric family in their estate located right on the border between Slovenia and Italy. Their Merlot vineyard is located on a hill facing south, which explains the high extract and tremendous richness and complexity of this wine.
Sanctum Chardonnay from the vienyards of Marko Podkubovsek in Stajerska Slovenia has a full body and nice acidity. Barrel fermented and aged on lees, this is a beautiful cool climate Burgundy style chardonnay. It is not oaky and pleasantly crisp and aromatic, it offers aromas of dow, almonds and walnuts.
Sanctum Welschriesling - Apples, gooseberries, tropical fruit and white flower aromas create an extremely pleasant nose. This welschriesling is produced by Jure Brumec in Loce, Stajerska Slovenia. Aged on lees for 9 months, 1/3 in oak, 1/3 in acacia and 1/3 in stainless steel, this is a full body wine that will compliment a wide variety of dishes.
Sanctum Welschriesling Icewine - Harvested on January 11, 2009 at -10C, this icewine was aged in a new oak barrel for 6 months. Featuring concentrated aromas of honey and apricot, this icewine has already won Gold Medals at Vino Ljubljana 2009 and Vino Slovenija Gornja Radgona.
