Mare Postup Plavac Mali Mare is the “sister wine” of Bura, and is in fact produced by Mare Mrgudic, sister of Niko Bura. The winegrowing region of Postup is adjacent to Dingac, and like Dingac, is planted exclusively to Plavac Mali. Postup wines tend to be slightly softer, more feminine, than those from Dingac, but Mare shares the high extract and powerful flavor profile of Bura. The wine is matured for 9 to12 months in French barriques. Tasting Notes Mare is unfiltered, opaque purple with black fruit and slight beef broth on the nose, but is somewhat more delicate and rounded than Bura. It has medium-high acidity and tannin and a full body, with intense plums, blueberry jam, and fresh tobacco on the palate. Raisin and slightly sweet oak are the undernotes, leading to a long finish.
